Hello,

Up.freedownloadmanager.org host is not used by FDM for checking updates only.

It's also used for a variety of reasons. For example, it's used to check if Internet connection is available in case OS reports it's not. Another case - when the user reports a problem regarding some failed download. It's also used to send some telemetry stats we use to improve our FDM, or fix issues which are hard to reproduce.

Anyway, FDM never sends any personal information about you, or any sensitive information. You don't have to take my word for it. You can always make sure in this by installing some third party application which allows to intercept HTTPS traffic. You'll be able to see then, that FDM nearly sends nothing.

Hello FDM6 Team,

The "Update" option has been disabled,
Following the occurrence of suspicious links, open the FDM6 window ---Preferences---up.freedownloadmanager.org...

The update option has been banned and should not happen, and it is hoped that FDM6 development prohibits such automatic outreach behavior, which is very suspicious.
