Problems: New font / "Download all..." / Preferences screen hangs

Post by BobbyBadass » Mon Jun 08, 2020 5:18 pm

Hi all,

I've been using FDM for years and never had a problem with it. I bought a new computer this week so downloaded latest FDM (6.10.0). There are three obvious problems which have ruined FDM for me, and I have had to go back to the previous version (5.1.38).

Problem 1: New font

New font is ghastly; very hard on the eyes.

Please go back to fonts used on 5.1.38! Very light and easy on the eyes.

Problem 2: "Download all with Free Download Manager"

I use FDM to download videos from a well-known adult site whose URL I will not share (unless asked by admin).

I used to right-click where it says e.g. "634MB" and get "Download video" -- perfect! :)

Now, however, after a looooong time, I get "Download all with Free Download Manager". Clicking this will make FDM start downloading all sorts of crap! Lots of files, instead of just the video.

If I wait another loooooong time, "Download all with Free Download Manager" will actually change to a dropdown menu with (IIRC) "All" and "Video" as options; clicking "Video" here will do the correct behaviour.

This is just nonsense. The waiting time is annoying and then there is an extra step. You have broken the main thing I use FDM for.

Problem 3: Preferences screen hangs

In around 50% of attempts, clicking "Preferences" actually hangs the program. Sometimes it will eventually display after, say, 30 seconds. Other times I have to end the task.

I went back to old version and it works perfectly fine.

I hope I do not sound too ungrateful. I love this program and if you had a premium version I would buy it. :D

However, I advise you bear in mind the rule, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

The previous version was perfect in my eyes and I'll be sticking with it.

Thanks!
