Re: Error downloading RAR file from OneDrive

For me it works when I log in to my Microsoft (Outlook/OneDrive) account in Firefox, go to the linked download page and click any „Download" button there. You should warn that it's more than 12 GB…

Re: FDM 3.9.7 lite 1636 Untrusted source?

Not a big deal, really, see older message here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17363&p=46396&hilit=certificate+innounp#p46396

Just read and follow the explanations below:

1. Check the links provided on those sites.
* The Vietnamese site links to dn2.freedownloadmanager.org where the current build is available so it's TRUSTED SOURCE and the current build is 1641 now. You can ignore that build.
* The Hungarian site links to dn.freedownloadmanager.org so you can expect some older build from the same TRUSTED SOURCE and you should check the build number.
* The Russian site (rsload.net) links to some other site so you can expect surprise.

2. Check if the file from the Russian site is digitally signed with certificate by Softdeluxe Ltd. as explained in older messages here-and-there on this forum. As you have downloaded all the three installers, you can see that all of them are valid and untouched.

3. Finally, unpack installer using Inno Setup Unpacker a.k.a. innounp and check the FDM.exe version.
And the winner is (surprise, surprise!) the Russian site, it's really the very build 1636 you're looking for! (And it goes to my OneDrive, soon to be seen…)
Just for the info: dn.freedownloadmanager.org provides even older build 1625.

BTW. Stop replicating messages in other topics, please. I have already deleted duplicates so don't try again…

FDM FAQ - Older FDM builds

Q: I still use older software. Where can I find older FDM builds which work OK with my browser/system?

You can search for older software on some software downloading websites like Filehippo:
https://filehippo.com/pl/search?q=free+download+manager

or Sourceforge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/freedownload/

You can also check archives of the forum moderator on OneDrive:
search.php?keywords=my+OneDrive&terms=all&author=Usher&fid%5B%5D=1&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=-1&t=0&submit=Search

or ask the moderator providing needed details…

Re: FDM 5 downgrade to 5.1.34 64-bit

johnlgalt wrote:I just had to go looking around the Internet to find the 64bit installer
As I have already informed, FDM 5.1 64-bit build 6924, file fdm_5_x64_setup.5.1.34.6924.exe is here, on my OneDrive:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AKm4ZaWdL2tfgh4

Any problem with downloading from that link?

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!

hoveriond wrote:i pasted the link of my direct download link i get from my "downloads browser". As you can see the image below, FDM still cant catch my file. The download settings is public tho.

If the download is public, just provide the download link instead of playing with pictures. Let any willing users check your observations on their own. Once again - FOLLOW the reporting rules and RTF FAQ.
Now in short:
1. WebExtension is a standard developed by Google, so it should work perfectly in Google Chrome. Firefox developers haven't implemented full WebExtension API yet, so if the link in Firefox doesn't contain filename, you should right click the link to open context menu and select "Download with FDM". See FDM FAQ.
2. Short links provided by file/video hosting services (including MS OneDrive, Google Drive and Youtube) may be permanent, but in most cases they are redirected (resolved) to temporary links that contain current session and file parameters in request, as I have mentioned earlier. FDM uses its own "link resolver" only for youtube and flash downloads, in other cases FDM must catch temp link generated in the browser. It may fail, if the link is obfuscated, encrypted, hidden in iframe embedded in iframe, etc., though some specialized downloaders may dig deeper with no success guaranteed.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!

FDM WebExtension 3.0.6 for Firefox is here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aqm4ZaWdL2tfghhPscFvMFmhrl_s on my OneDrive.
But you should better check your system, something may be wrong there. At least create a new Windows user account, log in and test Firefox and FDM on a clean user profile.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!

There must be some glitch in the installer script. Here is a link to the fdminst.3.9.7.1636 exe installer, it's on my OneDrive. Microsoft seems to block direct links to exe files, so open the link in your browser and follow redirections, otherwise FDM may NOT catch the download properly (ore download it in your browser without FDM).
If you uninstall FDM build 1638 before installing build 1636 and vice versa (uninstall build 1636 before installing build 1638), your problems should probably disappear.

Re: OneDrive Downloads Failing All The Time

How big are your files - less or greater than 300 MB recommended by Microsoft?
Are they your private files, downloaded from your OneDrive account with FDM using your login name and password or some files shared by other users?
Have you seen any error messages while opening OneDrive site or logging in?
How many connections do you use to download the files? In the best case Microsoft allows only 8 connections per download (that is, downloading in 8 sections).
Have you turned on logging in FDM and read error messages in the download log?

Re: Window Size in FDM

I'm only a user. Why should I say anything at all?

You can upload images to GoogleDrive, OneDrive, Dropbox or any image hosting service you like to use, then link it here using img tag - see buttons above the edition window.

You can also link to any popular program that uses features that you want to see in FDM. No such programs - no way to implement such features is FDM.

Re: FDM and OneDrive

Download from my own OneDrive works OK in FDM 3.9.x (I must provide my login name and password) and it may be very fast if I choose to download in many sections (right click on download name in main FDM window, select "Advanced" from the context menu and click "Create one more section").

You should follow the reporting rules and provide more details if you expect more detailed explanation.

Re: Last version of FDM to support Windows 2000 = FDM v3.7?

mrpete wrote:If it is not too much trouble for you I would prefer to try the Win2K version of build 1172 [v3.8] that Alex mentioned in post 34398. I would recommend, in the future, that you folks keep that file on the files.freedownloadmanager.org server and naming it fdm1172win2kinst.exe or something like that.
I am only FDM user and it was me that required W2k compatibility for such a long time.
The file fdm38inst.1172.2k.exe is linked here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AKm4ZaWdL2tfghE (it's on my OneDrive, Microsoft doesn't allow direct linking to exe files, so open this link in your browser and follow redirections)

mrpete wrote:The reason I'd prefer to put FDM v3.8 on Win2K is that I'm a Unix/Linux geek
Can you explain what is wrong with newer FDM builds? Maybe it's some bug to fix in Windows as well? I can provide the newest FDM version patched for Windows 2000 compatibility if you can do more tests.

mrpete wrote:One last question ... FDM v3.7 will definitely work on Win2K, right?
Wrong, see http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/boar ... 000#p32980
