What fix? Could you describe it for other users?Guest wrote:I asked and found a fix.
I can only add once more that copy-and-paste link from a browser to FDM doesn't work in many cases. I have explained it many times: install FDM extension in your browser, open download page, click needed link and let FDM catch download with all bells-and-whistles (referrer, session ID etc.).
Read the reporting rules and older messages if you want to know more details:

Referrer is missing when you copy and paste link directly into FDM rather than allow FDM to catch download link AND REFERRER from the download page.darkseid wrote: if a link is missing referrer
It's user fault.

Re: how to download a dropbox file link
Just open links in your browser, follow instructions on the web page (if needed) and let FDM catch downloads. Copy and paste won't work in most cases, they aren't links for direct download.

Re: FDM 6
As I have already said:Alex wrote:As I have said already, it's not possible to create FDM extension for a browser for Android platform due to its limitations.Usher wrote:* FDM extension for Firefox. I don't know exactly, what is needed to fix this problem, but other extensions already work, for example uBlock Origin, well known and recommended by Firefox itself.
- Existing FDM extension did work with Firefox 68 for Android, it was blocked only after upgrading Firefox to version 80.
- Some other extensions are compatible with Firefox 80 and work OK.
So what limitations do you mean? How to pass downloads from Firefox 80 to FDM? Manual copy-and-paste is NOT a solution, why should I do it instead of using downloader embedded in the browser?
Tablet with Android 8.1. It shows active Wi-Fi connection, but all apps have problems with downloading anything - browsers can't reopen webpages, Google Play can't check for updates, etc. I cannot successfully reconnect even when I kill FDM working in background.Alex wrote:Android version? What do you mean "kill"? Your device stops seeing wi-fi? Or, it's connected, but web browser can't browse any web sites? Something else?Usher wrote:- FDM seems to kill the internet connection when open for many hours with torrent download active. I need to restart the device to get connected again.
I will send report when it happens again.Alex wrote:Could you please provide some details so we can reproduce this on our side?Usher wrote:- From time to time FDM reports error when re-reading *.torrent properties, f.e. can't read file size.
It's not helpful, when I want to move a single download to top or to bottom of the list.Alex wrote:What do you mean? There is an option to sort the list in different modes.Usher wrote:* Cannot rearrange downloads on the list.
The same as it does in FDM 3.9.7. It's a request for all systems, not for Android only. Now it's not clear whether FDM keeps any credentials and how to change them when needed.Alex wrote:What exactly do you want from this feature?Usher wrote:* Site/password manager.
I meant description on the forum and on the download page. I won't go to Google Play when I browse the Internet on my PC. Any mention about known issues/limitations would be more helpful and user friendly - like more details in changelogs.Alex wrote:This is stated (using bold font) in the program's descritpion on Google Play store. But who reads these descriptions, isn't it?Usher wrote:I can't see this disclaimer in the program description.

Re: Problem when downloading link
It's a general error message. The link may just expire. You should go to the download site in your browser and click "download" there rather than copy-and-paste any link to FDM. The copy-and-paste method in most cases work only when you keep connection open in your browser.

Re: streamcloud.eu not supported 2018/19/09
For most file/video hosting services you must copy/paste the link to your browser rather than directly to your download manager. It's been explained so many times that "file video" keywords are excluded from search, see the results: search.php?keywords=file+video+hosting+services&terms=all&author=Usher&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=-1&t=0&submit=Searchtipar wrote:Copy/paste the link
Some more detailed explanations you can find for example here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17741&p=44907#p44907
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17646&p=44282#p44282
And if you don't visit the download site, you won't know whether anything will change in the site organization.
You haven't provided the download link, which is ALWAYS necessary.tipar wrote:Additional specific information.

1. On the page in the browser, select multiple links, then, open the context menu - there will be an option "Download selected with FDM". All selected links will be added to FDM download links.
2. If you upgrade to the latest released version:
on the web page or in a text document, select multiple links and copy them to the clipboard.
In the FDM menu, select "Paste URLs from the clipboard".
All copied links will be added to the download list.
Is it the feature you meant?
It's still not a feature available in FDM 3.x that allows to use wildcards.
Do you have any problem with checking how creating batch download is implemented in FDM 3.9.7?

Many links (especially from file hosting services) DO NOT work with copy and paste, some don't work like that even for premium users. They may require to watch ads, solve captcha, pass User Agent, Referer, session ID, other cookies or metadata from the browser, etc.Guest wrote:= I do not use integration. The structure of *.sav files may be changed in alpha/preview builds without warning. Some changes may be incompatible so the service files may need conversion. In some cases FDM can't properly convert older files and may crash immediately after start or after adding a new download. See similar case for FDM 3.9.5: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17053&p=40412#p40412
BTW. Stop your strange way of answering and quoting, please. Use the forum editing tools (f.e. click (”) button to answer, cut unneeded quoting, use BBCode tags to properly format quoted text) and do not post your answers to random topics.

Re: index.php?id="numbers" not downloading?
Look at the code for download link:
There is an onclick action defined here - and it is javascript code. If FDM doesn't run that code it will work the same way as without javascript at all.
There may be also a problem with user agent (or other metadata) passed by FDM - if it is different than the user agent passed by the browser, the server-side may start a new session and pass the webpage for the first time.
You can force FDM to download using context menu or just copy and paste the link to FDM. No matter what you choose, FDM will download index.php webpage. To me the problem is NOT in the words, I can find working links to index.php with download parameters or to some strange redirections when FDM downloaded proper files under index.html name. To me the problem is in abusing the same URL for two different things at the same time and in forcing some strange way of tracking instead of more usable statistics.
Code: Select all
<a href='/pcsx2/index.php?m=get&rev=v1.3.1-1145-g130a84d&platform=windows-x86' onClick='javascript: trackDownload("v1.3.1-1145-g130a84d", "windows-x86");'>Download</a>

Re: Login Problem in Site Manager
FDM has no problem with @ in login name. I suspect you have a problem typical for file hosting services, but you should provide more details, as it is described in reporting rules.
I can only give you some general suggestions for now:
- Always allow cookies for download sites.
- Never use two or more download managers/helpers at a time. If you want to use FDM, you should disable other download managers (like Flashget). If you want to use download helpers (like Flashgot), you should turn off monitoring in FDM.
- Copy-and-paste works only for permanent links provided for premium users. In other cases you should login to the download site in your browser, open the download link and follow the actions requested by the server side - solve CAPTCHA, tick that you're not a machine, etc.
You should also read older topics about file hosting services before posting again - they may contain some more needful explanations.

Re: FDM cant download files over 1GIG
FDM has no problem with downloading DVD/BD ISO images on NTFS partition, so I'm pretty sure it's a server-side limitation for anonymous/free users.
You should first ask the webmasters of put.io site, what is wrong with their support for FDM.
Or maybe it's some issue with your software? Follow suggestions listed below and do test again:
- Turn off antivirus and other add-ons in your browser (two download helpers cannot be active simultaneously, at-a-time), allow cookies for put.io site.
- Open Site Manager in FDM, make sure that the options for put.io are marked as permanent and valid for all subdomains and all protocols.
- Open the website and login to your account, let the browser to remember your credentials and the website to keep you logged in.
- Go to the download page, but don't copy-and-paste download link to FDM – just click the link or "download" button in the browser and allow FDM to catch the download with proper Referer, cookies and other session info from your browser.
- Leave a tab with download page open in your browser, don't log out or close the browser.

@bovirus:
STOP ADDRESSING YOUR SUGGESTIONS TO ME ONLY, please.
I'm neither FDM developer nor Poedit mastahacka. I'm only FDM user trying to make simple and clear, step-by-step, instructions for users willing to make translations on their own.
So, if you want anyone to follow your suggestions, make them as clear and simple as my instructions are, please. Do write separate step-by-step suggestions for translators and separate ones for developers, if you have any, please.
Now some remarks.
1. I browsed Polish translation used in FDM 5 and noticed that some translated strings are outdated, so I created a new file using current translation for FDM 3.x - it's faster to copy-and-paste to empty space...
2. Most of lng files are outdated - created for FDM 3.8 and older versions so they probably aren't maintained any more. However, existing strings may be almost automatically moved to 5.x even for unknown language, if you use some good programmer's editor with macro support or other tool for automation. And in this case it is also easier to create new translations than to update existing ones, containing unknown number of strings translated.
