Re: Why develop three different versions?
3.9.x is the best FDM till now.
Light, smooth, fully functional
5.x is totally a toy compared to 3.9.x
The only pity of 3.9.x now is that it doesn't support Microsoft Edge(Classic Edge, not the chromium Edge)

Re: FDM 3.9.7
Which is the latest version that fully support Windows XP? The latest one. Some features may have limited functionality because of changes outside FDM. Well, I find that it seems the Firefox extentioin of 3.9.7 build 1641 doesn't support FF 52. So can you please provide an old version of the extent...

Re: FDM 3.9.7
It is glad to hear that FDM 3.x is still maintained.
If the support for Microsoft Edge can be added, that will be so great.

file integrity doesn't ignore case?
In the file integrity function,
the checksum calced by FDM is lowercase
if users input a checksum with uppercase, even if the checksum is equal with the one FDM calced
FDM will report "Verification failed"
Shouldn't the uppercase or lowercase been ignored, just like FDM v3 does?

In my opinion, v3 is smoother, lighter and more powerful than v5.

Re: Vote for developing FDM 3.97 separately
I think, till now, FDM 3.x is better than FDM 5.x
FDM 5.x loses many functions of 3.x
even its startup time is longer than 3.x

Re: Tray icon doesn't disappear automatically
This registry key is not a bugfix, it's to tell Windows to write dumps when the app crashes. I set the registry key manually(They were not here), and reboot and run FDM. Yet the icon doesn't disappear either. So, we have figured out: maybe that was a crash, but Windows did not dump it. Now it shoul...

Re: Tray icon doesn't disappear automatically
No, I haven't found such folder and files. It's weird. Assuming you have Windows 8.1: open regedit and expand this path on the left: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps http://files2.freedownloadmanager.org/forum_images/wer.png Then, on the right, double...

Re: Tray icon doesn't disappear automatically
FDM's tray icon won't disappear after exit the software We could not reproduce this. Generally, the only explanation is: FDM crashes on exit. Please check for new dumps in your %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashCumps folder. File names must look like " fdm.* " but such phenomenon didn't appear in the e...

Re: Tray icon doesn't disappear automatically
How big are service files *.sav in your FDM? Maybe it needs some maintenance? Or maybe there is something wrong with your Windows user profile. In this case create a new Windows user account, login to it and test FDM again. 1. I tried del the whole FDM folder and reinstall FDM, and it doesn't work....

Have you read this message? http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17016&p=40318#p40318 If your FDM is clean (no downloads active), it may be some misfeature introduced in Windows 8.x. Many people still remember "reverse feature" in Windows XP, where tray ico...
