You might want to try the newest release (2.5.706+), the last few have had fixes for large file downloads.

From what URLs? What kinda system do you have? What version of FDM? What browser?

I get the same error in 2.5 for query size. Once the download starts, it recognizes the correct file size but stops at 158k.

I agree, this needs special attention if all large file transfers are like this.

Can you give more detail than "bug", including what happens, what you expect to happen, and information on your system (browser, OS, etc)?

Sounds like a protected URL or FDM isn't sharing authentication w/ the browser.

Is it a private URL, or one you can provide?

Games and youtube use may take up a lot of bandwidth, but only when active. They won't permanently slow down an internet connection.

A DM won't allow you to limit their time doing those activities. I think something more like a proxy with parental controls is what you need?
