You are right. WebExtension still catches links from the skip list. It seems that it still breaks some javascript code on web pages (possibly with login forms or deliberately ill design).

Dear User!

After clicking on the link, the website redirects to a subdomain.
Therefore, the skip list does not work.

Extension 3.0.6 is not catching clicks on some sites, for example, here: http://www.progettosnaps.net/samples/

click on any sample, the link is not catched.

But majorgeeks.com also redirects to subdomains and skiplist works there.

Dear User!

Please indicate how much CPU exactly does FDM use? You can find the information in the task manager.
Please send us the dump of the process.

Clive

Up to 18% of my 3GHz Quad core. downloading one file it starts at 12.5% (half a core) and goes up from there.

Which is a lot more than it used to.

Interestingly / oddly, this maybe dependent on whether it is a child of the firefox process or not. Because i'm using it now and it's only using 10% NOT as a child of firefox.

the extension works better now, it's not catching random images or files anymore, but on the other hand, it is also not catching links it should catch.
for example, anything on www.progettosnaps.net

You can use "Download with FDM" from the context menu.
There are no direct links there, but there are still links with NO extension. See software list http://www.progettosnaps.net/softwareresources/ and example below (note link with no extension in bold):
http://www.progettosnaps.net/download?tipo=resource_SL_snap&file=http://www.progettosnaps.net/softwareresources/packs/channelf.zip
Path to file is passed as one of parameters in URL (see italics in the URL above) and they are redirected using PHP on the server side. Actions that follow redirection may depend on browser settings, so you can also change them.
Click any link, Firefox should open a dialog window like on the image below:
Image
Choose "Open with" and select FDM from the pull-down list. Firefox will remember the selection during the browser session and won't ask for the next URLs of the same type until you close the browser. If you want to make selection persistent also when reopen Firefox, just mark "Do this automatically…" and FDM will catch redirected links any time from now on.
Later on you can reset this setting in Firefox options – open Options page, go to Applications tab, find needed file type (rar, zip etc.) and select "Always ask" from the pull-down list.
