My OS is Windows 10 Pro latest stable version (20H2) with all updates.
I solved this issue by uninstalling FDM (while preserving its settings) and manually installing the new version. FDM asked for a reboot while installing the new version (it said something along the lines that "other software installation requires a reboot"), which is a bit weird (never happened before), but after the reboot I was able to fully install the new FDM version while maintaining the settings from the previous version.

Do you use FDM for torrents? It may take a few minutes to verify very large torrents (recalculate checksums) when FDM is closing. In such cases FDM installer may really require reboot.
That's why I always close FDM manually, use Windows Task Manager to verify that the FDM process is closed and only then install new FDM version.

I just checked my version after updating just a couple of days ago - I have version Version 6.13.3.3568 (21f54ab)

Numerically it supersedes 3555. Was this pushed as a fix to a bug in 3555?

I can't reproduce it, and this should not be happening. Can you send me your settings.ini file? It's located in %localappdata%\Softdeluxe\Free Download Manager folder in case you use Windows.

Yes.

I did not find any problems in it. Please send it again when this will happen (i.e. it happened - don't do anything, just shutdown fdm and send this file to me).

Maybe these downloads was just scheduled? Are you sure that you stopped them by yourself?

Dear developers, Why don't you update the Wikipedia page regularly? Seeing Wikipedia people might think that FDM is abandoned if you don't update it's stable release version and dates regularly. I have updated it for you today. But I won't do it anymore. You should do it.
