Hello

FDM 3.5 RC build 954

please correct this problem:

a) bittorent = disabled; monitoring = enabled; default folder = D:\Downloads\
b) I clicked on a torrent hyperlink
c) now I set the folder to D:\Downloads\Torrent\ and click on OK
d) message: "enable bittorrent?" -> click on YES
e) the download folder jumps back to "D:\Downloads\" instead to "D:\Downloads\Torrent\"

thanks

Hi,
Any chance of having filesonic supported please? So that FDM grabs the proper link not some HEX string for the file which reports unknown size as it does now with latest RC.

Then could FS be supported for resumable downloads too please?
(Many FS link are 400mb-1gb and if it stops then have to re-download the whole file!)

IDM claim to have fixed these probs with the recent version 6.05 build 3 (Mar 03, 2011) release if thats any help

thanks!

Jo, the FDM-Button hovers around somewhere and vanishes when the mouse comes near... impossible to use.

You should run regedit and configure FDM as Administrator.

Google is your friend.

Sorry, was in fact located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FreeDownloadManager.Org, but since I am runing 64bit its under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Wow6432\Software\FreeDownloadManager.Org
I didn't find anything on google on how to take ownership of registry entries on Windows 7, could you tell me how to do it?

I have FDM running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit And have no issues with it not automatically starting nor staying minimized or anything like that.

However, I have to copy URLs in order to FDM to actually DL in Fx 4.0b13pre-release. I know this it be a known issue, so it's not a big deal - but other than that, FDM is working great again.

I would like to see a 64bit build, but that is neither here nor there.

Is it possible to you to compile and release the x64 edition of new version of FDM? it's highly needed. :D
thanks

I also need one of these 64-bit versions because there is a serious compatibility issue with Windows 7 Ultimate using the 32-bit version of FDM 3.0 onwards. It's only compatible with Windows XP and Vista but not with Windows 7. The program always crashes about 30 minutes after using the bittorrent function of the program without fail.

Can you be more specific? I've used more than a few builds with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and not had it crash that often - I have had crashes, but nothing as frequent as you are describing, more like every 3-4 days without a reboot.

Update to my problem: I have found that the issue is not the Windows OS but with Firefox 4.0. After getting the FlashGot extension to replace the FDM extension in Firefox 4.0 Beta. The problem is resolved for now. However, as soon as I updated my Firefox 4.0 to Release Candidate 1, the same problem occurs once again. This time, I am not sure if this is a problem with FlashGot or FDM or even both. Might need an update to make it fully functional again.

So was not able to sort the registry thing out,but i have created a new user account and the problem remains FDM does not start minimize at windows start up. Also tested it on windows XP and same problem FROM doesn't start minimize at windows start up. Try it on windo XP professional 32 bits and on windows 7 ultimate 64 bits

FDM 3.5 can't download this:
http://www.easyduplicatefinder.com/file ... _setup.exe

try it and you'll see.

Download window appears but it gets stuck at 0% it never advances.

I hope it can be fixed.

Ok, after waiting for about a minute or two, I get a "server is not responding" message and THEN it does download. How the hell can it download if the server is not respnding?
Downloading with the browser works immediately. Using Downthemall! also works right away.
It's definitely a problem with FDM.

bye!
