Complete reset for FDM on Mac. How?

Postby houser » Tue Jan 17, 2023 11:47 am

Hello,
Happy user here, with a new minor issue ut probably not a bug, so hope this is the correct place to post.

1. FDM suddenly does not remember downloads between restarts.
2. Can work around by using the "Exportable downloads" and the import after restart.
3. Other preferences appear to be intact.
4. Have deleted all ~lib/preferences and other instances I have found.
Are there more places that need deleting to reset please?
Can we completely reset for FDM on Mac. If so, how?

This is on a MacBook Pro using Ventura,
Many thanks for any helpful comments!

Hello,
FDM keeps its service files in this folder: ~/Library/Application Support/Softdeluxe/Free Download Manager.
It seems it has no write access there anymore due to an unknown reason.

Excellent, that fixed it thanks!

1. Exported downloads list again
2. Quit FDM
3. Deleted that entire folder and restarted FDM

After that that folder was recreated and all appears to work as expected again. Many thanks, appreciated!

Hello.
I had an app jam today while using FDM, I tried restarting my computer and reinstalling the app, neither of which resolved the app jam. I was also unable to remake the settings of FDM, and every time I reinstalled the application, FDM kept the hyperlink that I made me stuck. I tried resetting the app as per the reply before this post, but I can't find the folder Softdeluxez. My device is an M1Pro Mac and the version is Ventura 13.3.1.
Can you help me please? Thank you very much.
