i suggest adding queue and schedule setting like the older version of free download manager

Upgraded to FDM 5.1 and uninstalled it immediately . I want all features from 3.9 to be ported to 5.1. There is no ability to view progress of downloads like this,




Also this new version appends a .fdmdownload extension to incomplete downloads which is greatly frustrating. I prefer to use the old version until all features are ported.

Need to be able to schedule downloads for download limitations and speed from a satellite internet connection. I will be uninstalling v5 and install v3.9. With out this feature /fdm is worthless for me

Hello i'am creating this user account just for this., i really amazed about the FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER change, after a while i really don't understand the modern concept, this downloadmanager now looks like firefox downloadmanager or browser download manager to me, and seem like take windows explorer job browsing file than making download manager better, the gui is so empty it's mean it bring more problem, no scheduling, no anything, after trying the other download manager, no i know why IDM doesn't change it GUI , that's because that all the download manager do, only the integration and performance that improve, but this is just still developed and new feature will be coming, adding link is really difficult it add only 1 link at a time and it checking if the link active.... it's time consuming just check if the link active when it about to download it. and i can set the temporary folder or destination file.... i mean the folder destination.. it's like having to download with mozilla and tick the always ask where to download.

at last please make the 160MB+ more great than the conventional download manager.

Thanks for the reply but what I'm saying is FDM 5 officially support Opera. We shouldn't have to look for a work around to get FDM 5 working wid opera. And please add Dload info box as well!

We thank you for the new FDM 5, and for actually taking time to reply to our request.

I am still having problems with request # 1. I still can't grab videos from other sites e.g.: "www.pornhub.com", "www.redtube.com" and so on. I am sure my FDM5 is up-to-date, FDM is enabled in my browser plug-in/extension, and restarted everything. If media grabber is already featured in FDM5 then I really don't know what Steps I did wrong or neglected.

We intend to support both versions for a long time. I can't specify for how long exactly, I guess, FDM 3 version will be supported a few years more.

Speaking about the voting process, to sign up is the only way to vote.
However, you can always write here what features you would like to vote for if you don't want to sign up at all.

Now come to think of it, where is version 4.x.x?
My guess is that:
FDM 5 = modern simple skin, simple user interface (good to marketing simple users to use FDM).
While FDM 3.9.8 to FDM 4.x.x = grotesque User Interface, advanced options (for advanced users such as your self).

So why is the FDM 4.x.x skipped?
I guess its really reserved for advance users.

Yes, but 3.9.7 is already stable and stuffed with many advanced tools and options.
But FDM 4.x.x will be left out if the browsers kept on updating while FDM 4.x.x is stuck, amarite?

Why is FDM 5 beautiful while FDM 3 is ugly?
So that simple users will prefer on using FDM 5 to 'infinity' (I don't know if infinity sign is in the ascii), while hardcore advanced users will stick to FDM 3 or 4.

I just upgraded to FDM 5.1.17 went from 3.97 yesterday due to some conflicts and it not downloading, just the main window popped up
so, I went to windows 10 a couple of weeks ago, saw that fdm v5 was stable and took the old one out
so far it works fine , fast and so forth
but, I cant seem to find out how to just "open" or save and open. I can only save. i was trying to find the pull down or option to handle the download in one of those 3 ways and cant
i save to temp and then need to open there , I guess that is the way, however , it was so seemless and has been for many years to one click and there it is. plus no more little pop up in the bottom right (on my windows7 anyway) .
I do not see this feature being requested, so , I thought maybe in the2days i have used this new upgrade , i might have missed it.?
I have used fdm for years and went nuts when it wasnt compatible in ff for a little while. I have stuck with this as my sole, preferred download manager ,with the exception of the short time I had confusion making it work in FF some years ago.

Priority must be to get all the 3.9.7 features into FDM 5, before starting on new ones.

While we vary in which features we use, and their relative importance, if there is something I could do in FDM 3.9.7 that I can't do in FDM 5, then to me that's a bug (it's broken!)

Which I will resolve by going back to 3.9.7 - I can do without the things I never had, but not those I use.
