Weekend wrote:any update on memory leak issue for fdm addon on firefox?

Hello,
We can't reproduce it and do not see how this can happen. Can you please help us? Some exact steps that leads to this bug. You can write them to me via the private message, if you want to.

It happens on random. from 15 min to 2 hrs.
I use to have firefox run on background usually for youtube. and after some time I find that firefox is freezing and my 16gb ram is full. It happens only when this addon is enabled. I tried to see if it's my firefox settings but I reset my settings and without this addone I never have memory leak.
also I have a vpn on with youtube.

Is your VPN enabled in the browser somehow? I was often listening YouTube music (via playing its videos) in the background and has never been experienced such problems.

Really like FDM and have been using it for years. But I do have a question. Many times when using Firefox I wish to download a file, sometimes FDM pops up for me to download and other times I get the standard windows 10 download window and I see no way to cancel that and have FDM take over.

Is there a way to force FDM to open every time I download? I see no option for this in the settings.

Many thanks!

Clutch

Neither 3.9.7 or 5.1 work at all with Firefox 75. There is no connectivity and download links work as if FDM doesn't exist.

hi I know this is not the place but anyway I should report this to you guys on this somehow:
there is a network monitor task for FDM located in task scheduler and Call of Duty: Warzone (the new free battle royal modern warfare reboot game) consider it as as a potential cheat. (maybe a network monitor radar hack or something idk) so only disabling that will allow the player to play the game, otherwise game closes with no error message. (same as having an auto hotkey program installed, maybe it's a method of cheat prevention.)
as this is a very popular game in windows, I had reported this to you guys.

Edit: Also to answer your last question; Yes I always have vpn on with youtube.

Just joined FDM yesterday, and managed to download one video from youtube. Now I can't download any more, every time I try to download It tells me it "can't process page"?

Thank you for replying. Do you have any idea when this might be resolved? Would FDM work perhaps with a different browser?

Hi everybody, just registered here. Today I reinstalled Firefox and the latest FDM; then integrated FDM with MS Edge from the Chrome Store, no problem; but when integrating Firefox from addons.mozilla.org it looks like the FDM addon has been withdrawn and only a couple of unofficial lookalikes appear when searching "Free Download Manager" :x . Whatever happened?

Open hamburger menu in FDM, then find and use integration options in FDM settings.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough: that's exactly what I did and after pressing the "Download Firefox extension" button at FDM's "Browser Integration" Preferences section I get an AMO page reading:

Oops! We can’t find that page

If you’ve followed a link from another site for an extension or theme, that item is no longer available. This could be because:

* The developer removed it. Developers commonly do this because they no longer support the extension or theme, or have replaced it.
* Mozilla removed it. This can happen when issues are found during the review of the extension or theme, or the extension or theme has been abusing the terms and conditions for addons.mozilla.org. The developer has the opportunity to resolve the issues and make the add-on available again.

Try visiting the page later, as the theme or extension may become available again. Alternatively, you may be able to find what you’re looking for in one of the available extensions or themes, or by asking for help on our community forums.

Verified - last week the FDM addon by freedownloadmanager.org was there at AMO. Today it is not.

I have version 3.0.52 installed as of 16 Jan 2021 in my Firefox (Nightly) profile (I did a complete clean install of my Firefox nightly profile then) and the same version installed as of 8 July 2020 in Firefox stable profile.

Because of my clean new Firefox (Nightly) profile, I know for a fact that it was there just a week or so ago (11 days now, technically). But it is not showing up in AMO right now.
