FDM 3.9.3

Postby Alex » Mon Sep 23, 2013 1:43 pm

HI!

Download 3.9.3

3.9.3 build 1360. (Oct 25, 2013)
Changes:
[+] Firefox 25-26 support.
[-] Problem with the detection of a new version.

3.9.3 build 1359. (Oct 4, 2013)
Changes:
[*] Improved support of Internet Explorer 11 browser.

3.9.3 build 1358. (Sep 23, 2013)
Changes:
[+] Magnet links support.
[*] Minor improvements in torrents downloading.
[*] Minor interface improvements.
[-] General bug fixes.

Please note: to use the magnet links for the torrent downloads you had to enable the "DHT" option in the Options->Settings-> BitTorrent section in the previous versions of our Free Download Manager. Staring with FDM 3.9.3 1358, the "DHT" option is already checked by default. That's why the users of older FDM versions should manually adjust this setting for magnet links or download the latest FDM version.

It's not compatible with latest beta of Firefox.

Dear all,
as the "Nightly" and "Aurora" Firefox versions are still in their alpha status, there might be done some important changes in them until these versions are released. That is why the FDM developers can not guarantee that our FDM client will run smoothly with these browsers.
Anyway, you can try setting FDM monitoring with the Firefox pre-release versions by using the following guideline:

Many users are aware of possible problems and solutions, but they still want to have maxVersion set to test Firefox beta without user intervention or complaining. Don't forget that asking to bump the number every six weeks is uncomfortable and makes some users to search for another download manager.

And now Firefox extension is broken again. Some files have been changed but install.rdf remains unchanged. IT IS BAD. You must bump extension version number with any change, no matter what file in extension has been changed. I have already explained it in this forum so I repeat only one thing from Firefox troubleshooting FAQ: Firefox caches javascript files from all enabled extensions and if you don't change the extension version number, Firefox will still use old JS code taken from the browser startup cache.

Stop ignoring my suggestions, please.

I'm just curious why the Junkware Removal Tool removes FDM from the Startup list. I'm pretty sure FDM isn't a PUP. Maybe the developer of FDM should get in touch with the developer of JRT (thisisu) to sort this out:

Thanks for the FDM update!

Hi Alex,

Can you please post the last source into the source control.

Also, is there any particular process for submitting patches?

I submitted the following patch some time back,
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16473
I note the fix does not appear to be included in the v3.9.3 release.

Thanks,

- M

- not have variants of quality video
- and dont play video-files, what i can download.

Download from other sites with online-video working good, but youtube for me have a more prioritet.

Windows 7x64, Firefox 24.

When will the 3.9.3 LITE version be available?

EDIT @ October 1

Actually, download page http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm already has the 3.9.3 LITE version. All that is needed now is to update the information at the page, that still refers to the 3.9.2 version.
