Hello people i have a question.
This has been asked more than 1 times and im sorry
when i download a file of 30 gigabyte or so and the dowload speeds just seem so slow while for example when i download the same file on steam it goes really fast with an average of 40 mb per seconds

once i had a dowload that went really fast but then for the other dowloads of the same sizes went really slow

what is the cause of this issue? and how do i fix it

Could you follow the reporting rules and provide more details, please? What FDM version do you use? What settings do you use? What about monitoring by your antivirus or internet security suite?

i am using the last version of free dowload manager
i don't think my antivirus is a problem
and my settings: everything is on unlimited

It's not helpful. Just report software names and versions/builds, please, as it's described in the reporting rules.

That's the main problem. Neither your internet connection nor the server bandwith are unlimited. Set limit to 4-8 connections per server (no more than 2 connections per any of your CPU core), wait a minute while FDM makes connections and reserves space on disk, and only then see the download speed.

what i am trying to say here is: the file i am trying to dowload is 11gb here it takes 2-3 hours while when i try to dowload a 11gb file on steam it doesnt take longer than 6 min

oh and one thing to add sometimes my dowload speed drops to zero

Did you read this when they mentioned to follow the reporting issue so they can look into it?

then the server itself is the biggest factor here(location, how far is it from your location, bandwith, etc)...also google, steam & other big company are known to use cdn(thats why they're that fasthttps://www.google.com/search?q=cdn+server) so dont try to compare them.

Looks like none of the posters wants to read instructions to get proper help. Sounds like a lost cause here.
