FDM is not working.

I'm a ubuntu user. I recently installed the free download manager. But it is not opening/working? Please help me. Advance thanks.

Follow the reporting rules linked in my signature and provide more info, please. What Ubuntu version, what FDM version, what browser? How did you try to use FDM?

when i try to download the file from a host web site it trys to download it as html file and not mp4 which the file name is in

Does anything noticeable happen instead? E.g. does it show any error message?
What is the version of your Ubuntu?

The site(s) it is occurring on will also be helpful - some sites have scripts written in so that the URL you click for DL actually is parsed by the browser to get teh actual link to the file, and sometimes FDM simply doesn't do that correctly.
