First of all thanks for the FDM.

And there should be an option to disable fdm chrome extension video grabber feature.
It appears at the corner of every videos and it is very disturbing.

Recently FMD can no longer detect and download videos on Chrome.
Is it a bug or something else? Hope it's fixed.

FDM 5.1.25.5816
Chrome 56.0.2924.87
Win 7 Pro SP1

Dear User!

You can download videos using the context menu.
To download a video, right-click and choose "Download video with FDM" from the context menu.

Clive

Hi.

I have the most recent version of Chrome as well as FDM and there is no menu item to choose download from when I right-click on a video. Also, I cannot grab urls anymore to FDM to directly download videos.

Anything I am missing or doing wrong?
Deon

the download button stopped showing up on Chrome with the update that was mention above. I can still download with the right click menu, but the button ain't showing.

It still shows on Firefox, but not Chrome.

Hello,

Just became acquainted with FDM. first I used a portable version, which worked fine with Chrome, then I just downloaded Free Download Manager fdm5_x64_setup.exe and installed.
It says no chrome installation is found. If I right click on a single link, it shows FDM and downloads it, but the right click menu that allowed batch downloading is missing.

I'm not admin, thus Chrome is installed under AppData under my profile.

Is there a fix for this?
I've deleted the chrome extension, reinstalled. no changes..
I'll attempt to reinstall chrome now..

Dear User!

To download all links, select all links on a web page, then call the FDM context menu and choose "Download selected with FDM".

Not sure if this a bug or something. Again, it seems this is unique to FDM 5... Have never had it with FDM 3.

FDM re-downloads a completed download after I move (cut & paste) a completed download out of the FDM download folder. The behavior is random (roughly one in five downloads) and doesn't happen every time. Also, it's independent of sites or file types.

The logs show the following info:

[Jul 17, 2017 18:18:40] Download complete
[Jul 17, 2017 18:53:45] File is missing
[Jul 17, 2017 18:53:56] VideoStream: Files are missing
[Jul 17, 2017 18:53:56] Downloading page
[Jul 17, 2017 18:53:57] Page is downloaded
[Jul 17, 2017 18:53:57] Launching parser
[Jul 17, 2017 18:53:57] Page is parsed
[Jul 17, 2017 18:53:57] VideoStream: Starting download

You can abort a repeat download if you stay vigilant, else end up expending unnecessary bandwidth especially on large files.

Thanks

Dear User!

Please provide us with an example of a page from where you download. Does FDM automatically start the download or after a restart or some other action? What operating system and FDM version (full version number) are you running?

Clive

The logs I provided belong to a regular Youtube page. I follow standard download procedure (download via right-click context menu or copy-paste video url to the FDM client) and don't do anything unusual as such.

Clive Sorensson wrote:Does FDM automatically start the download or after a restart or some other action?
Yes, as mentioned FDM auto downloads a completed file upon moving (cut-paste via Windows right-click menu) the downloaded file to a different directory. No restart involved.

Another thing I forgot to mention is sometimes FDM restarts a download from the beginning although the progress bar shows near 100% completion. Although this is rare, the behavior only happens when you pause/resume a video download multiple times. May be it loses track of the exact download status.

Clive Sorensson wrote:What operating system and FDM version (full version number) are you running?
Windows 10 & FDM 5.1.31.6531
