FDM 6
Re: FDM 6.8 Release Candidate
I'm getting the error "can't process page" when trying to add this youtube to be downloaded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e7_ZBl9HMo
I can download it using YTD Youtube Downloader though so it isn't a youtube server problem.

FDM6 Disable Mode Captions
Is there a way to disable the "MEDIUM MODE" and "LOW MODE" captions?.. I usually implement the MEDIUM MODE on FDM 5 and I tried and liked FDM 6, but I had to toll back to v5 because I find the caption distracting and even a bit annoying.
Regards..

Well, it's just what I mentioned, I find the captions very distracting and even a bit annoying. I have LED screens and the captions seem to pop out, but more like an artifact, or dirt, than anything useful. You have to understand, the "MEDIUM MODE" is my default mode. FDM is always running in that mode so I can limit the download/upload speeds. And probably one of the best features of FDM 5 is its clean interface. I don't think any other download program is currently a match, including FDM 6.
Re: FDM 6.8 Release Candidate
When you try to add a file to download to a drive you used last time such as f:\ and that drive isn't available it says "file open error". A better error message such as "drive not connected" or something would be better.
Are you going to get your extension in to the microsoft edge (chromium) store? As it isn't in there. I had to go to the chrome store to add it to edge v81.

Thanks, the devs will look into that.
Re: FDM 6.8 Release Candidate
Hi
I liked the 3.9.7 version, very lite in size and very nice eye candy theme guide me trough the years until, now i can't download anymore video from youtube..i know it's only in v6.8 or above, and the big big problem om mine is that v6.8 is very very big in size after installation..i know i know today hdd or ssd or nvme drives are having many GB or TB to handle this changes of FDM v6.8, but still i don't like the new ui after v3.9.7 and the size now that has increased 6x going to 240mb for an Download Manager so i decided to quit it as it seems that FDM is going in an very wrong way (in my opinion) and looks that is going soon to have 1000 MB in size so what's the point of it, used to work well but now is just nonsense and therefor i quit.
I am here just to say thanks for the 3.9.7 version and since i don't use it anymore since that version i will go with Internet Download Manager.

Hello,
1. I don't know why it's 240mb for you. My FDM6 installation (Windows, x64) takes 120MB of disk space.
2. Larger size comparing to FDM3 is the cost for much easier and cheaper cross-platform development of FDM6.

Re: FDM 6.8 Release Candidate
Hello! I'm here to ask, when will 6.x get released officially? It seems the testing is getting years. Will it be offered to 5.x users when we "Check for updates"? Will the update require a clean installation of FDM for optimal performance? I'm still using 5.1.38.7312, because it has almost zero bugs for me and I'm afraid to download and install 6.x and get bugs. But I'm always using new software and would love to get FDM 6.x. If I download latest FDM 6.x release now, do I need to uninstall 5.x first for optimal performance? Will later builds of FDM 6.x require clean installation and/or be offered when we "Check for updates" for optimal performance? What features were added/removed? Does 6.x perform better on Windows 10 compared to 5.x? Thank you.
Re: FDM 6.8 Release Candidate
videos like this: https://banned.video/watch?id=5ebc7a6f244ac5001d240386 say "unknown size" for the file size when you download them in FDM and they say that they have successfully downloaded but some of the time they have not fully downloaded so the videos that you download sometimes stop playing during the video.
I hope you can figure out a way to fully download videos reliably.

Hello,
Hopefully soon.

Hopefully yes.

FDM6 will not work worse if you have FDM5 installed.

It works better (at least for me).
