Yet the icon doesn't disappear either.

So, we have figured out: maybe that was a crash, but Windows did not dump it. Now it should. Please also check that "DumpType" is set (see the same screenshot) - a DWORD value, e.g. 2.

Then, reproduce the bug and open that folder in Windows Explorer. Are any .dmp files there?

I'm sorry but I've done what you have said and the answer is still no.
I doubt that did Windows 8.1 really read those registry key and value, and is this really FDM's crash?

For me, in Windows 8.1 x64, these keys were present by default. Windows must read them: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/librar ... 85%29.aspx

I said, it may be a crash. Not necessarily. But the problem is: we could not reproduce the bug by now.

A user here believes that there was no bug in build 1526, we gave him that build to confirm, now waiting for the reply.

you can reproduce it easily in Windows 8.1 Update 3 or in Windows 10 Build 10049.

Windows 10 can be downloaded here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... w-download

Just to add, there is no any problem with the FDM, only the one with the icon, ie, there is no crash in the application, only the icon that closes only when I move the mouse in the windows tray.
I'm using Windows 8.1 x64

then seems the bug started in 3.9.5 RC build 1521.

3.9.5 RC build 1519 should be the last version without the bug.
