Some sites (cloud storage space) restrict download speed for single client. However, the same file could be linked in different APIs (cloud client). Adding each different url into a "same" file download could be a great feature.

Say, a same file can be downloaded as the following URLs:

http://some.cloud.space/direct/file/id=123...
http://some.cloud.spece/api/client001/f ... 54216543...
http://some.cloud.spece/api/client002/f ... 21921321...
http://some.cloud.spece/api/client003/f ... 33922465...

Intercepting all above URL could generate 4 different downloads, but they are actually same file. While each URL has a speed limit (server side restriction, no matter how many request/parts FDM split...) to 100KB/s, combine them together could be 400KB/s... sort of bypass the server side limitations.

• Secondly, with v3.9.7 if you "add" a download, it immediately goes ahead to download. In latest v5, after "add", you again have to make another click "download" to start process.
  Is this intended or could you please make it one click less like in older version?

I think FDM is otherwise the best at its job & ever since I came across it years ago, I have never needed any other.

I would love to see the option to scan for Viruses after each download.

That is the only feature (at the moment) that is preventing me to change to version 5.x

i missing the DATE correction of downloaded files.

The date is everytime the current, not the original date from the file.

Please, fix this.

I've use MANY down-loaders and FDM is stable, which I like, but missing metadata (referring url etc) is annoying. flash g.e.t. has metadata but is stable as jelly!

I would suggest adding the features from 3.9.7 but as an 'extended version. As some have requested file size and interface of FDM 5 is their preference, do both. Develop the API in behind to allow the current version 'Lite' and create an extended version as an add-on for those who want the extended functionality.
Then you could have additional 'plugin' capability open to the community to write plugins/addons/extensions?

Dear Clive! This feature has been added at the very beginning under the name "To set file date & time from the server". Thank you for your neglect.

Hello!

If you use the FDM browser integration, you can enable "Start downloading without confirmation" in the FDM settings, then, the downloads will be added to the download list without confirmation.

FDM is awesome. However, one feature that is missing is the scheduler like it is found in BitTorrent app. There should be an option to select the download/upload speed for a specific time slot of the day. For example, one may want to download at full speed between 01:00 AM and 04:00 AM. Before and after this time slot, the speed can be limited to 5KB/s. Thanks.

The scheduler is already available in FDM 5. You can schedule a download when you add it to the download list.
