FDM 3.9.7 build 1625 downloads flvsniff.dll build 1058, FDM 3.9.6 build 1523 downloaded flvsniff build 1064. What is the reason to go back to older build?

Hello.
FDM Ver.3.9.7 build 1625 we observed the following phenomenon in Firefox 42 in.

1. such as "download FDM" in the context menu that appears when you right-click on the URL link and the page does not appear.
2. The browser also download window of FDM is open at the time of monitoring, can not get the correct file size (400B), it becomes a 400B file be downloaded. (In previous FDM normally acquired, it can download)

Thank you improvement.

Since you are mechanically converted from Japanese to English, it is not only a funny sentence.

What is your Windows version? Is Firefox 32-bit or 64-bit?

A new FDM extension for Firefox is not completed yet. Read this message: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17267 for more details.

What was your previous FDM version? What is the link?

Use simple sentences in answer, please. They are easier to translate and understand.

Using 3.9.7 1625 (and 3.9.6 1614; Win7 SP1 HP x64) I'm unable to download the stories (individually or selected) from Bewildering Stories, saying access is denied; "Save link as" in Firefox 42 (32-bit) works fine.

What exactly do you want to download - html pages, other files?
How do you try to do it - clicking links, using "Download with FDM.." from the context menu, any other way?

Could you follow the reporting rules and provide any links and describe your actions step-by-step, please?

FDM Version 3.9.7 build 1625; Firefox 42, extension 2.0.17.

1. Visit Bewildering Stories.
2. Right click any story, e.g. "Distant Replay", select "Download with Free Download Manager".
3. Click "Query size" ... Error dialog: "Access denied. Invalid user name or password".
4. Download anyway, same.
5. Right click, select "Save Link As...", file saved.
6. `curl http://www.bewilderingstories.com/issue ... eplay.html` also succeeds.

Ah, sorry, turns out Bewildering Stories doesn't like the identity - changing it to "Free Download Manager 3.X" (i.e. just upcasing the 'x') is enough to get it working.

You should better paste User Agent copied from your browser...

All clear.

I Uninstalled and installed FDM again and the error message is gone.

But the question remains why did I get that message ?

The answer is clear - you have updated Firefox before updating FDM so Firefox have warned you that your outdated FDM extension is NOT digitally signed (or some file was edited manually). Just RTFM (about Firefox troubleshooting) and you will be redirected to Mozilla Extension SIgning topic.

Hi Usher,

thanks, but No I didn't update Firefox before updating FDM, and to my knowledge "No file has been changed".

But no problem as a reinstall (of the same version) solved the problem.

Thanks for the link.

As it's described in the FDM FAQ, FDM in some cases may not update its extension properly. This time there may be problems with broken installer of FDM build 1625 - it's been updated more than once, so reinstall could really help.
