I love FDM and all but I think this website and how FDM is presented (its name too) makes it look like a scam. It's like it tries too hard to convince me that it's free, making me think that it's a scam because that's what other scam websites do.

First clue for me when going to this website is Image

If it wasn't for the GNU logo I'd probably stay away from FDM thinking it was yet another download manager scam.

Ops, I posted as guest.

But I also wanted add that not everyone knows what GNU is. Perhaps those are the people who fall for "free *whatever*" scams.

I think you should read older messages before reiterating of old objections. FDM is available for so many years that it is general agreement it should NOT be renamed.
If you think something should be changed on the website, you are free to propose a better solution using "Suggest an idea" button.

Don't worry, portableapps.com is safe. That's where I download most of my software.

Build 6924 seems to be floating around, fairly sure it's a legit leak or what have you (passes A/V). Not that i'm pining/begging for a new version but that could clear things up. Plus, thats according to that sumo thing which seems to carry a few licenses....for cannibis that is, when it reports findings, lmao. Again, overly satisfied with the current version especially the FF60 support. Been a user since the 2/3.x days, and waiting _patiently_ for any new release (maybe just a little bit anxious for a few [file] bit rollbacks to appease some quirky intel rst releases, again no rush there -- managable). Keep up the great work over there (Clive is it?) ...

All official builds are on our download page, so I would advise checking it first for any new versions.
Thank you for the support over such a long time, it actually means a lot to hear things like that.

I thought that silent updates had been gone away long time ago, but I was wrong. The build 6924 has been uploaded on February 22nd but it has NOT been announced in FDM 5.1 topic yet.
Users should be clearly informed about updates and bugfixes otherwise they stop reporting problems and using FDM…

As I developer I understand how much that means thats why I sent it (along with the longevity of the app & coding and it being a reliable favorite)

Definitely liking the dark theme, too. Thought you did it because of browsers, however microsoft just recently annonced it for file manager (FYI) which I'm sure you're aware of (, too). Glad to see the updates.

EDIT: I may have to switch from my [suspicously!] frequently updated torrent client to yours. Little off-topic but did you use a (possibly OS) torrent lib? Only reason I'm asking is to know which one that may be... :) Thanks!
