Why are you showing this.....kinda ads/popups?

Why not show only this small window instead of main GUI too?



Progress window & Floating window (little window on the right bottom of the screen that shows speed, size, etc......its there in version 3) would be good too.

* Start up seems faster then before, also consumes less ram. Before, it used to consume in between 50-70MB. Now, it's around 35-45MB. Hope, you can reduce it to 20-30MB in the future.
* The progress tab is missing in batch download. Also, there should a check box for Create Subfolder.
* Batch download still does not catch links if they are separated by a single space. e.g. http://ww.down1.cm/ http://ww.down2.cm/
* Still no tracker add/remove option for torrents.
* When permanently deleting files, no warning window appears.
* Would like a 3 significant figure download and upload speed indication

Ya, the devs should do that. showing that instead the whole GUI would be rather nice.

FDM 5.1 is unable to download from http://buildbot.orphis.net. It only fetches a small HTML file.
I think the reason is the lack of web browser user-agent impersonation and/or referer copy support.
To replicate just select one of the projects and try to download whatever build you want. You'll only get a small HTML file with FDM. Only downloading with a web browser works under normal circumstances. Cancelling the download in FDM to force switch to web browser works as well. An interesting fact that made me think of those 2 features is the possibility to replicate this in a web browser if I do something unusual such as right clicking on a download link, copy its location, pasting it in the address bar and pressing enter. Essentially I simulated a referer loss. In this case the web browser would display the page that FDM would download instead.

Thank you very much for the awesome software! I have been using it since early 3.0 version. One I thing I can't find in the 5.1 version is the scheduler. I loved the scheduler functionality in version 3 where I can schedule download start, download stop and even PC shutdown.

Why is this missing in 5.1? Or where is it since I can't find it if it does exist in the same functionality it used to be.

Can somebody please help me?

v3.9.7 automatically sorted the downloading files into folders like documents, software, compressed etc.

But I see no such option in 'settings' of the v5. Hence whatever file I download, it goes to one folder that is pointing in the settings. How do I enable sorting? I 'checked' suggest folders based on file type, still it is not sorting.


Secondly, is there a download button or something that can popup or present near a downloadable file say, a video?

Any help is much appreciated.

I downloaded 64 Bits from first page, the link is giving 6280 Beta & not 6303 Stable.

You can enable the scheduler in the "Add download" window or in the context menu of a download.

Please add extension support for opera

We have released a new version: 5.1.28.6375.
You can see the changelog at the top of this thread.

The file integrity check should be able to be added when adding a download. Once the download is complete FDM should then verify it against the code added when adding the download.

At the moment you have to go back to the download page and then find the hash then add it to FDM.

Why is the NEW FILE - Dialog window sooooooooooo narrow?

I remember the discussion here to have a wide window because of long paths and long file names.

The wider the better!

The narrow window now is useless compared to the old design wide windows

Hello, I also experience the problem with newer builds that FIreFox does catch the download and not FDM. It is 50 % to 50%. I do not know how to overcome the problem. Sometimes restart of FF, FDM and PC helps. Sometimes I have to wait 5 or 15 or more seconds until FDM catches the download. But then the FF-download windows stay. Means 10 downloads then closing 10 FF windows.

As the catching worked very well in versions until around March, why is it worse now?
And what can I do, pelase?

I have to go to older versions, that I backed up as older versions are hidden from users as they were a top secret. And if problems occur, users are left alone older versions are gone.
