Re: A Linux Version of FDM
Everybody wants it... but it will never happen. Windows users and developers really don't care about linux and linux users. Boycott it and you flashget instead when you run Windows !

Oops sorry (deletes post). Yeah Flashget ... remember it's not open source, remember there hasn't been much direction in years as far as development is concerned and the latest version is a big step backwards, IMO.

Re: A Linux Version of FDM
Download the source code and make a linux version yourself.
Re: A Linux Version of FDM
I use many linux download managers with Ubuntu. Like Kget etc. According to my knowlege they are in primary level comparing FDM.
So i belive Linux base FDM should introduce.

Re: A Linux Version of FDM
Please port FDM to linux. Nothing is currently better than FDM and all the download clients on linux are either difficult to use or just plain stupid.
Oh and the button at the top of the forum must link to http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/3828/ and not http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/11045 anymore, as you can only vote on the other one.
Or you can just replace the code with this:
Here is what the right one looks like:
Thanks

Re: A Linux Version of FDM
I see that there is no Linux version of FDM. I want to try to work on my own linuxversion, but don´t know, where to download the source code.
Does anyone know a link for it?

Re: A Linux Version of FDM
I think all the users know that FDM is hosted on Sourceforge. You can find it on the download page of the FDM site.

Re: A Linux Version of FDM
I looked it up, but there are only .exe files in all versions, but no surce code. Maby it is there and I just can´s see the link to download it. It´s the first time I want to get the source and not the programme.

A Linux Version of FDM
I am asking for a very concrete solution.
Please port the Free download manager to Linux.
There have been some people requesting a good download manager.
It is a really great tool, which I have used during my
windows time, and I still use it for huge downloads.
(One of two things preventing me from wiping my NTFS partition)
FDM is available under GPL and it is coded in C++
It supports
Multi Part downloading
Downloading from video sites
Pause and Resume downloads
Detecting Mirrors
Upload Manager
Resuming of broken Downloads and Checksums
Scheduling
Torrents
Partial downloading of zip archives
And much more
& having it .deb & .rmp machines would be great !!!!
So
Please

port it to linux with all the Featurs of windows !!!!!!!!!!!!
