Recent reset of all setting

Postby jaymo » Tue Mar 02, 2021 7:32 am

Hi all, and thanks to those developing what is the most sophisticated piece of software, paid or free of it's type.

I recently after a reboot found all settings had reverted to default in FDM and I needed to re-register the plug in on the 2 browsers I use FDM with, Chrome and Firefox plus Chrome's text had changed to something that look's simple, however upon research the fonts shown in settings are the normal defaults, though the font looks wrong, I have changed all font types to Arial and made all fonts larger so it now looks like what I'm used to and is easier for me to see.

I'm asking as I'd be interested to know if anyone would know why? should I be concerned of a Malware or other unwanted software incident that may have changed FDM or perhaps added other unwanted software's

This happened 4 days ago.

Windows 10 up to date (last update was last night)

I rely on the Windows default protection as I've found it adequate, I do weekly restores Points via task scheduler and fortnightly images and also in times of major changes so that I don't loose work and changes made.

FDM ver 5.1.38.7312 (79f26aa)

I have used Eset's online scanner as well and performed a full system scan, it did not find anything.

I include this info so if there maybe a problem someone may suggest something to prove or disprove a problem.

Unfortunately, FDM 5.x isn't supported any more.
It seems to be a problem with other Windows software or the OS itself, so you should find more appropriate forum to report your problems.
