Dear all, our programmers are diligently working on development of a new extension for all popular browsers. Unfortunately, some new Google Chrome rules for all third-party addons (http://blog.chromium.org/2013/11/protec ... cious.html) might slow down this process, as well as the fact of moving Opera and Google Chrome browsers from NPAPI to PPAPI. Anyway, we hope to release FDM 5 beta version as soon as possible until the end of this year.

Hi all, just joined the forum specially after testing this 5.0 prototype

I personally feel the improvement over GUI should not hinder the ease of usage of the product. Not classifying the settings and providing one big list makes it difficult to customise it. So in user interface segment, I wish devs to introduce some classification. Moreover in browser integration, I would like to specify the Opera version since its transition from Presto to Webkit engine has made it completely different. Adding integration support to chrome derivatives will be a big plus.

Secondly, whenever there's a UI change, there's a segment of people who'll never like it because of the style of their usage. I would like fdm 5 to include search option in their help segment (and of-course again classification of help) to pinpoint the queries.

Lastly, I would say, FDM 5 is slightly sluggish in responding the things. For eg any downloaded file to be initiated or even opening the program takes lot of time as compared to any of the previous version. However its not a big issue, since i guess its in alpha stage and there will be much code optimisation.

As per functionality is concerned, flash video download from internet explorer 11 is still not possible due to missing bar. ( Its same problem in v3.9.3). Kindly fix this bug. I would love if FDM integrates its download bar in other browsers too.

FDM 5 is completely rejuvenated and comes up with new design concept. Keep the good work going.

unbelievable, is FDM development in progress, or is it dead? FDM 3.9.3 is still not able to download flash videos fron youtube... already since many month.
all other download managers i know has fixed the youtube video problem already many month ago, but FDM.

i am very annoyed about the promises of the dev team, that a fixed version is coming very soon... i heard that promises already more than once, but i still waiting for a working version...

Yes, it's a bit disappointing, but it is a free product and the developement team may be low on resources...makes it a bit hard to complain ;).

i know, that i should not expect a fix schedule of development...
i am more disappointed about the many promises from the developer team, but nothing is coming.
when they say - fix will coming soon multiple times and nothing happens for many months that's not the good way. then they should say the truth - no time, not resources, too many problems, no money, or what ever.

i switched to jDownloder2 to download videos... there i get exactly what i want in highest possible quality.

for every thing else i stay to FDM - and i hope

helping develop FDM is also not really possible, because the source code you can get from SVN is not really up to date (it is still an older 3.9.2 build. the SVN is updating very rarely)
