FDM 6 powered by Qt 6.x
FDM 6 powered by Qt 6.x
Dear FDM users!
We're in the process of switching to a newer version of the framework we use.
We would like you to help us in this. We need your feedback.
We especially recommend to try out this version for those users who experience random crashes / graphic glitches.
Please download and install this FDM6 Qt6 x86_64 build for Windows 10+.

Hello,
Invalid when selecting Chinese (Taiwan) language, the Chinese (China) language is displayed.

OK. Are the texts translated correctly anyway, or they are also translated to Chinese (China) language?
P.S. I failed to reproduce this issue. Maybe (just a guess) it's because Chinese (Taiwan) is required to be the default system's language...

6.19.1.5263 Selecting Chinese (Taiwan) language is normal. 6.19.2.5312 (by Qt6) started to change, selecting Chinese (Taiwan) language shows the Chinese (China) language, viewing the Chinese (Taiwan) language file fdm_zh_TW the text translation of .qm is correct, but it is not displayed, the fonts of the two Chinese are different.
Re: FDM 6 powered by Qt 6.x
I'll give this a shot on Windows 11, English (US) as default language.
Will this install side by side with my existing install, or will it replace it?
Also, glad to see the move to QT6

Hello,
It will replace it. However, you should be able to switch back to FDM6 on Qt5 at any time you want.

Re: FDM 6 powered by Qt 6.x
Been using it so far since I last posted. It seems to work fine, no issues. The rendering on the dialogs is a bit funny, for example, the popup download status button shows the blocks very differently.
Also, the UI scaling seems to be much better, I was previously using 200% UI + 120% font to make the dialogs look right, but now the 200% UI is much larger than it needs to be,m so it is back to 100% and text is at 140%, and everything looks fine.
Was there anything in particular you wanted us to look for?
I had a single instance of the save dialog not showing on screen correctly as I have had with FDM 5 / QT5.x in the past. With the Qt5 version, all I would see if the top title bar, the rest of the UI was gone. With the Qt6 version, I saw a tiny box too small for any UI elements.
Whenever this occurs, simply exiting and then restarting FDM gets it working correctly, so I'm not really worried about it, especially since it has been happening extremely infrequently in the last few months.
But other than that, it seems to work perfectly fine.

Re: FDM 6 powered by Qt 6.x
Sure thing. A few of them, in fact.
I need to queue up a download or 3 to grab some, but give me until tomorrow to get them lined up and I'll posted them to my Google Photos account and then put them in here.
