I must say I have almost given up hoping for the custom branded version of the superb FDM 5, instead of the outdated v3.9.6 because at least the last time I checked, I was encouraged for the x-th time to vote, etc.
I am quite sure the developers are busy, but realistically is there any reason since the introduction of v5 lies quite a while back in and in terms of years) ... to keep hoping?
It would also help to get a clear statement if it has been decided not to make the update so one does not maintain a false hope. Such a decision would be unfortunate for those who appreciated the custom brand version, because it's simply great, but would help to know.

Though I am just a user, and not involved in the development process whatsoever, my gut feeling is that, with the announced version 6 that will incorporate elements of ver 5 as well as ver 3 (which I read to mean will look like 5 but have the customisability of 3), I suspect that that will become a part of ver 6, if at all.

I suspect that, except for bug fixes, ver 5 is not even in active development anymore - but again, these are all gut feelings on my part, so take with a healthy dose of salt

We'll think about adding this to FDM 6, but it seems this will never be added to FDM 5.

After enthusiastically advocating and hoping for years now for Custom Branded Version after moving from v3 series and endless requests on "Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features" as I was told, I must say I have more or less given up.

I tried to create a new custom version nevertheless today, with some small hope a newer version i.e. 5 and better still v6-based as is suggested in the post from Alex made in March would now be possible to create.

Not surprising as last attempts have been, I became despondent after a preview of uploaded icons on the first page each ended on .../step1.html => 504 Gateway Time-out, Same to a subsequent attempt to avoid previewing and going ahead to "Next" or "Save and Exit".

It is understandable if there are other priorities for FDM, but at least please let us know and it would be helpful to update what a user finds after clicking the link on the site side bar banner "Get custom branded version" that one does not get what one expects, until "Get custom branded version" is really there and the creation process works and preferably not for the outdated 3.9x series.
