Vote for upcoming FDM 5/6 features
Re: Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features
I would like to propose that you put an option so that youtube videos can be downloaded on 720p60, 1080p60, 4K60, and others.
Re: Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features
I've downloaded a considerable amount of 1080p and 4K videos. From my experience I can tell you FDM generally downloads the highest possible FPS in the same resolution category. That means if a 1080p video is available in 60 FPS, FDM will download the 60 FPS version by default. The same goes for other resolutions also. Although it is in my case & thus may not be fully tested - maybe you could help by testing the mentioned scenarios. And that said I seriously think FDM should give us a option to select the FPS also. Maybe the other users could vote to get it implemented.testyourmight wrote:I would like to propose that you put an option so that youtube videos can be downloaded on 720p60, 1080p60, 4K60, and others.

If try to download a file that already exist, Option to ask: Resume the download with the new URL
Re: elapsed file download time
for full and portable versions
elapsed time data useful in client-isp disagreement over bandwidth delivery [10 mbps] and bandwidth received [1,3 mbps max]....i.e. it ought to take less time to download e.g. a 2 Gb file at 4.7 mbps than at 1.25 mbps, if delivery is actually at 4.7 mbps to contract limit [10 mbps] or the speedware app rating of 14.4 mbps.

Re: elapsed file download time
I haven't understood clearly what you wanted to say but as far as I can tell there is no "client-isp disagreement". Internet speed is measured in megabit per second & our downloading client reports in megabyte per second. As 1 megabyte = 8 megabit; generally you should get 1/8 number of download speed of the promised speed of your ISP because they are reporting the speed in megabit per second. This reflects in what you have stated at first of 10 megabit per second and your received speed. So in that case you should get 10/8 = 1.25 megabyte per second which is also reported by the downloading client unless there is some additional factor. BTW the speed measuring apps or services also reports in megabit per second. Hope I have cleared your doubt. Feel free to clarify further.allan wrote:for full and portable versions

Bailing on FDM 5
So I've been waiting for the features of FDM 3.9.5 to be restored to FDM 5 (or later version). I loved the old program: fast, feature rich, customizable. The new one just isn't.
I'm trying out some new options with different programs. None of them are as good as 3.9.5, but they are definitely better than 5.
And before anyone asks for which feature I'd like to see restored, read the first sentence: the answer is "all of 'em". Really unfortunate that a very solid--if not perfect--program got so watered down. I'll keep an eye out to see if it ever gets caught up, but I'd say the odds are low at this point . . . .

Re: Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features
Dear Users!
"Frame rate selection" is added to the Vote list.
Thank you for the feedback and all your feature suggestions.
Many users keep asking about batch downloads. Here is a way you can download several files at a time.
Select the links on a web page, then call the FDM context menu and choose "Download selected with FDM".
Regards,
Clive

Re: Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features
It's been already clearly stated that "Download selected with FDM" IS NOT a batch download available in FDM 3.x.

Re: Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features
I cannot see that included assuming that this is the list - https://docs.google.com/a/freedownloadm ... nAK7I/editClive Sorensson wrote:Dear Users!

Also voting requires signing in to google which is a drawback & I don't think FDM is anyway affiliated with google; so voting should be at least integrated into the forum for registered users. Please consider it seriously.
BTW I found this - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16628 with the link to http://freedownloadmanager.idea.informer.com/ for voting new features. Is this deprecated ?

Re: Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features
In new versions should add the option to schedule the queued downloads.
Re: Vote for upcoming FDM 5 features
please while downloading from video flash sites preserve the html title of the video instead of garbage file names which are shown on add dialog , and add up and down buttons , and intergrate youtube-dl in your program.Thanks.
Suggestion
you should include a default quality option in the settings, so that we can set the default quality of video to be downloaded.
For instance, when i need to download a huge no. of videos, then unnecessarily have to wait for the pop up download window to appear to select the 480p.And this is very inconvenient.
So I suggest you to include the option of setting default video quality.
