Network error always
Network error always
FDM 6.12.1 works good, but when disconnected from Internet, all stopped downloads or new downloads cannot start. It says: Network error.
Then I restart the FDM and everything works perfectly.
But the restarting is not the solution. It should continue working automatically after reconnecting to internet.
My sweet old FDM 3.9.7 did not have such a probrem.
Anybody knows the solution?
I'like to return to FDM 3.9.7 but it is not integrated with Google Chrome well and also its torrent downloading is not like the new one.

Hello,
What is your OS? What type of Internet connection do you use?
Could you please provide us the steps to reproduce the problem?

Hello, I'm having the same issue and here the step to reproduce:
Xiaomi Mi NoteBook Pro Windows 10 20H2 (Same issue with older version) Intel I7 8550 and Network Card intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 with drivers version 20.70.21.2 (Please not I'm having the same issue eveen with previous drivers version)
- FDM launched at start
- All download are ok
- leave the PC going IDLE
- going back from PC sleep by pressing any key
- FDM show network issue for unfinished download (If paused before going IDLE) and also zhen trying to add new download, it also show this error when trying to shearch for FDM update.
The only work arround to solve this restart FDM
Please don't hesitate if I can send logs

Hi, and Bravo! for searching and finding the same question to continue with.
Out of curiosity, do you have either of the options under the Power Management section of FDM 6.x settings enabled?
Also, does this occur on *both* battery and electrical power?

Re: Network error always
Here's the finicky thing with wifi drivers if the previous was working one should stay with that unless your trying to fix a issue. That should resolve part of your network issue connection. If that is the case here but also you should check your notebook site for their latest driver and use that rather first to remove any kind of wifi software issue.
And this part:
For my use I use a dedicate torrent software to do those torrents. I mainly use FDM v3 for file and doc downloading as it works very good at doing this but anything torrent I have a separate program to do that. I myself tried v5 and considering it didn't have the customization that I could do in v3 - I have since gone back. Also if you checked chrome site I do recall they have a FDM plugin. Not sure if you want to go that route but it sounds like the issue your having it might be a change that might have to happen.

Both option are checked
I also would like to higlight that I have tried a lot of drivers from old to newest ones and didn't help, I don't think it's drivers as I don't have network error after sleep with others software, I also tried motrix.app and after sleep he is enable to download my files with no errors, I like FDM so I would like to keep it has my file downloader
Re: Network error always
With both of those options enabled, if FDM is downloading the computer shouldn't be going to sleep at all. So that right there is odd - unless you're manually putting the machine to sleep (like, say, closing the laptop lid to transport it somewhere).
I'll have to devise a test scenario for this on my end. I have a Windows 10 laptop, but my connection is so fast, that I'd have to download something massive that takes long enough for me to initiate a sleep cycle on the laptop while downloading.
Another thing I do is to have my power plans set to not turn off my WiFi and Ethernet cards when on electrical power, so I'll probably have to change those settings as well.
Let me think about this for a day or so - if you have any ideas about your particular configuration that you want to share with me to make sure my test is as close to yours, let me know.

Re: Network error always
I also have a fast connection, and the PC don't go to sleep while I have file download in progress,
The scenario is to start the PC then download with FDM to check that no connection error, and then after the download ends leave the PC go to idle, after waiking the PC up you should notice that FDM show a network error if you try to download a new file or try to check for FDM software update.
I checked my wifi card device option in device manager and I can confirm that the option to not cut power to the wifi card is set (Sorry my PC is not in english, but I think we are talking about the same option)
Don't see anything specific to my configuration that could help to reproduce but let me also a day or two to try to figure out what could cause that

Re: Network error always
That is the same option - but in my settings, enabling (check) means power savings is *on*, so it will cut power, and disabled (no check) means power saving feature is off. Just verifying yours is the same way.
As for your English - trust me, yours is better than some native English speaking people.. I have no problems understanding.
So, I was mistaken about the sleep, I assumed it was occurring *during* downloads. Now I see the issue is quite possibly something else. I don't have issues with FDM usability after waking because, well, I (my PC actually) never sleeps.
I have a few things to run over night tonight, but after that I can probably enable sleep and see if I can get FDM to error out.
Any information from event log, or from any anti virus program(s) you might have running?

Re: Network error always
So are we talking to the same person or whom is Guest now??
Re: Network error always
I'm the guest from the begining, I found the issue and I was having the same problem and to avoid openning another thread> I decided to give more details on the issue.
Re: Network error always
So, we have the OP, coyote and now Guest. OK. Same exact issue on 3. Interesting.

Re: Network error always
Users should register so we know whom is talking and as no one two issues are the same.
Re: Network error always
Agree on registration, disagree on issues - two issues from 2 entirely different users *can* be the exact same.
Both Coyote and Guest searched the forums and found a post detailing their exact issue, and it's entirely possible all 3 are having the exact same issue. It's also possible that they are *not* - up to us to figure out what is actually going on, and see if we can make the issue reproducible (in which case it is the same) or not (in which case it may not be the same, but may still be, if all three have the same software installed that is interfering with FDM on system standby resume)
