Well, do we have any theory why that's not the case for me? I regularly get alerts from other programs.

Program Update alerts, a.k.a notifications, mostly occurring when you the launch a program, just it used to be when I launched FDM, before it stopped working

You say it is working, I'm telling you it is not working for me. This is a bug report. I don't understand why you are dismissing me, and my report, so casually.

Hello,
This is not a bug report. Or it's a useless bug report. I'm not even sure what issue you're talking about. If you want your issue to be addressed, please provide detailed description of what you do (steps, including OS and FDM versions), what you expect to get and what you get instead.

If you wouldn't mind, please describe the FDM behavior the user should expect when "Check for updates automatically" is enabled.

Is it not a mechanism to inform the user that an update is available"?

Hello,
Now I understand you. Unfortunately, this option can confuse our users, because in fact it's about critical updates only. Otherwise, it's the user's responsibility to ask FDM to check for updates.
We'll think how to make this more clear to our users. Thank you for the report. :)

Hmm. That would be helpful, @Alex and team, as I too was under the impression that it checked for all updates, not only critical ones.

Since I'm pretty active here in the forums, I usually see the updates here before FDM finds an update, so I thought it was just my proactive participation here in the forums that allowed me to find them quickly. Now I see that the forums, and this thread specifically, as the best way to check for updates.
