Windows 7 and rapidshare problem

Postby Guest » Tue Nov 08, 2011 10:42 am

I need some help please, i've been using firefox + flashgot to download from rapidshare, and it works just fine.

But yesterday, i'm forced to change my os from win xp to win 7, and i can't seem to download from Rapidshare (i have premium account, and direct download is on), every time i try to grab rapid link it will connect, redirect... and error ("File not found"), i usually logged in to rapidshare from IE.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hi,

I've been using FDM very happily for a while now. Recently, I reinstalled Windows 7 after trying the Windows 8 CP, and since then I've had a similar "file not found" issue.

I have a premium Rapidshare account, and have entered my login credentials into FDM's site manager (using rapidshare.com). I can download from Rapidshare using IE9's download manager with no problems, but with FDM I get the following type of error (short log only to exclude login info):

2:58:42 PM 1/04/2012 Opening file on the disk...
2:58:42 PM 1/04/2012 File not found
2:58:42 PM 1/04/2012 Stopped

Interestingly, I get the same error when trying to download the latest FDM version from this site:

3:03:46 PM 1/04/2012 Starting download...
3:03:46 PM 1/04/2012 GET /fdminst.exe HTTP/1.1

I've tried fiddling with specific settings, including trying both version 3.0 and the latest 3.8 version to no avail, but unfortunately I'm not tech-savvy enough to know what I'm doing! Does anyone have any suggestions?

cheers

I switched from XP Home SP3 to W7 HP SP1 this weekend and I can't download from Rapidshare (Premium) either. I was using FDM 3.0.871 in combination with Mozilla Firefox 12.x and the FlashGot add-on.

Now I can't get it back to work. Not with the latest version and not with the release candidate. A file is downloaded, but it's only a few kilobytes. In the paste, this had something to do with a setting in Rapidshare, but I haven't changed that, so that shouldn't be the problem...

Don't know what I did differently, but I tried FDM again (for the tenth time or so) and now it seems to work. Perhaps it was HTTPS that was unchecked or it looked like the site manager "forgot" my settings. I also saw settings like "r12345.rapidshare.com" instead of "rapidshare.com" in site manager or settings that disappeared after I closed and opened FDM.

A bug in FDM or gremlins perhaps? Lets hope it keeps working this time...
