It seems FDM can't find your Firefox user profile, because the profile doesn't exist (deleted or not created yet) or has been moved to another place. Have you read the FDM FAQ about Firefox troubleshooting?

FDM compatibility with Firefox 35.0.1

When will the extension be supported by 35.0.1?

I have read FAQ and saw a notice about non existing FF profile. The problem is that my profile exists since 4 years at least and had no problems with it so far. It was used with FF, nightlies and as far as I remember other forks of Firefox without problem. It worked with earlier FDM with no problems too until update to FF 35 (now 35.0.1) and FDM 1482 so it's why I'm asking here. My current setup is:

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Firefox 35.0.1 (x86 en-US)
profile located in:
C:\Users\$MYNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\$MYPROFILE.default
C:\Users\$MYNAME\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\$MYPROFILE.default
There is also profiles.ini in C:\Users\$MYNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

Close Firefox and FDM, create a new Windows user account, log in to it, run Firefox to create a new clean profile, close Firefox, run FDM and turn on Firefox monitoring, then run Firefox again and allow FDM plugin activation. Test some download.
If it's all OK, close Firefox and FDM, go back to your old Windows user account and follow all the FDM FAQ for Firefox troubleshooting suggestions.

When will you start to read before posting?
Current FDM plugin for Firefox is compatible with current stable and beta Firefox versions.

I had the same problem. After a blue-screen-crash in Windows Firefox claimed the FDM plugin to be incompatible.
I solved the problem by deleting all files/folders in C:\ProgramData\Free Download Manager\Firefox\Extensions and simply reinstalled FDM (fdminst.exe).

deleting all files/folders in C:\ProgramData\Free Download Manager\Firefox\Extensions
It's already described in FDM FAQ for Firefox troubleshooting, step 8.

It seems that Firefox still tries to use some files from older FDM plugins.
Follow the FDM FAQ for Firefox troubleshooting and remove all remnants including Firefox startup cache.

nope, was not that, it was an issue in FDM, now is fixed in FDM 3.9.5 RC build 1519.

Changes:
[*] Flash video monitoring DLL can be downloaded as additional component via settings.

Me no stupido.

I've been waiting for someone to confirm that it works.

Mozilla developers once again have changed addon management. Starting from Firefox 36 there is no fdm_ffext@freedownloadmanager.org file - it's data are kept now in extensions.xpiState preference.
See:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1075190
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1075193

Explanations are added to FDM FAQ.

First post here, friendly Hello @ all!

Recently I ran into an issue with the latest Firefox update and found no fix so far.

Some time ago Firefox came up with an update notification, but it also stated the Free Download Manager has to be deactivated as my version 1.6.0.9 is not provided.

I updated Firefox to version 36.0.1. Then I updated Free Download Manager to version 3.9.4 built 1485.

But it seems Firefox doesn't recognize the new plugin version of Free Download Manager as the version 1.6.0.9 remains deactivated on the plugin page (there's no new plugin from the recent FDM listed).

Any hint what I could do to solve this issue?

Best regards
