Keeping FDM 3.x alive..
Keeping FDM 3.x alive..
dear users of FDM 3.x and developers around there..
I am a great fan of FDM and wish to see FDM 3.x in the future. for that i need your help. i am no developer and cannot develop FDM by myself so i seek your help. if you know anyone and if you can give times to develop FDM 3.x then it will be appreciated.
FDM is written in C++ and the developed FDM will submitted to FDM team for evaluation after successful development and then it is distributed using the FDM original site.
thanking you

Re: Keeping FDM 3.x alive..
I doubt they will since they moved on to 6 on FDM. This is a non-paid program those whom created it made for public use. I still use v3 without issue with the latest plugin. So what problems are you trying to get at here with your posting? That would be something other v3 users might know about as well.

dear stromjumper;
i doubt that you are using FDM 3.x in full. tell me about video downloading services, download from youtube, dailymotion, metacafe, facebook etc. are you able to download videos from site like this.
i am aware of that the FDM is a non profit and open source programs and the developers migrate to FDM 6.x. so i like the classic version and with some tweaks and revamp the source code (because FDM is open source) we can make it forever.
i already revamp an open source download manager written in java (xtreme download manager) and you can find it at https://www12.zippyshare.com/v/7pTvAeuY/file.html.
i am not aware of Cpp and hope people present there can make it happen and with this FDM 3.x can be managed by out sourcing and FDM 6.x is maintained by official FDM team.
thanking you

Re: Keeping FDM 3.x alive..
You do know those sites updates their security to prevent such older program as v3 from working and some newer versions. That's why I've told others trying to use v3 to find suitable other free/paid software to do their downloading. What your asking for from v3 is next to impossible to do since they aren't working on that version but latest version. If they have a pub deposit of v3 then one can download and do their own customization but one shouldn't expect FDM unpaid software developers to revisit something they have last update but have moved to v6 of FDM.
Re: Keeping FDM 3.x alive..
Only FDM3 in the Free Download Manager software series can be regarded as classic and excellent, and the FDM5 and FDM6 developed afterwards are very poor. Unfortunately, the development of FDM3 has stopped, and the individual has now installed IDM and used it.
If there are people who can take over the development and update of FDM3, individuals will continue to return to use FDM3.

Re: Keeping FDM 3.x alive..
Major concern with FDM 3.x is browser integration and recognition of web players and download video directly from browsers and the basic is already there no need to develop FDM from scratch. It is better if people start developing FDM 3.x soon. I am waiting to see people's version of FDM. All the very best .

@Darkseid, like I said they moved on what you need to do is find alternative to video downloader other then FDM. I have two that I use and they work find for YT as those get's updated more fequent. One is free and the other is paid. So that tells you if you want a quality video downloader your going to have to pay to have those uptodate features to use on sites such as YT that update security to block downloaders.
