FDM 6

FDM6 should automatically import all the data from FDM5 and then remove it from system. Did you try to install the latest version of FDM6?
Yes, I download from this page:
https://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm
It installs in a different folder, leaves the old FDM 5 in its folder and it remains functional.

Hello,
This can happen only in case FDM5 installation is damaged.
If FDM6 does not import FDM5 data automatically - this means it was imported earlier. You may uninstall FDM6 completely (including all its saved data), and install again - it will import then. All the previous FDM6 downloads will be lost, of course.

thanks, but I have already tried this procedure, but when I reinstall fdm6 the data of fdm6 reappears. How do I deeply delete previous fdm6 data?

I wrote it, sorry. I didn't realize that I didn't log in automatically

Hello,
Windows OS, right? Uninstaller should ask if you want to keep FDM6 settings. Just anwser No and it should remove all the data then. If this does not happen, you can do it manually. Just remove %localappdata%\Softdeluxe\Free Download Manager folder.

Re: FDM 6
the "paused" text in the status column is even smaller in this new version

You can make the text larger by going to preferences > Downloads > untick "Compact View of Download List"

It is already unticked, they clearly made a change in this version. I don't know why the developers love tiny text so much, they do it on the tabs above the downloads too (all/active/completed/torrent/youtube/video/music).

Hello,
Sorry to hear this. The only I can say is that it was not my decision to make these changes. We'll think about adding some font settings in case more users will be complaining about this.

That would be most appreciated, ty Alex and dev team.
My eyes are getting older, and unfortunately I've started needing slightly larger fonts than I've been used to using.

ok, with this suggestion I solved the import of the history from FDM5. Thank you!
However, FDM5 remained in place, it was not uninstalled and the browser extension still refers to version 5. I removed and reinstalled the extension but still prefers FDM5.
Also I found that FDM6 does not accept some filenames that are valid for FDM5, for example "C: /Download/a.C.d.C.
The children of the Sun p.1 The Aztecs 14461380_1800.mp4 ".
Last consideration: when I pause a file a confirmation window appears (useless) is it possible to remove this warning? Thanks.

What operation system do you use?
It's NOT a valid filename in Windows. See slashes and the ending space?

Re: FDM 6
In windows 10, If you open a windows run dialog box and use forward slashes instead of backslashes, Windows explorer still opens the correct folder. Same thing if you type in a path in Explorer.
So c:\Windows == c:/Windows
The space could simply be a typo on the user's part, when adding in the " before and after path.

thank you for the answers, but:
- the slashes are proposed by FDM. In settings I selected the favorite folder by navigating to it so I didn't write the slashes myself like this.
- FDM5 accepts the path, FDM6 does not accept the path
- if I remove the initial part "a.c.d.c." FDM6 accepts the path.
