well it got fixed after a reboot, haven't faced it since.

by the way, it seems my fmd is not updating to the 5.1.12 build. it keeps showing fmd is up to date, should i manually reinstall the latest build ?

Please try to follow these steps:

1. Launch Task Scheduler:

2. Find the FDM task in Task Scheduler Library, double-click to open its properties:

3. Uncheck two ticks:

Conditions tab > Power > Start the task only if the computer is on AC power

Settings tab > Stop the task if it runs longer than

ic,it is definitely fixed but it will be troublesome for everyone who uses laptop to do this changes. casual users dont normally feel comfortable messing with these setting. hope for a permenant solution in the next update. keep up the good work. btw i really miss the floating windows in the 3.7 fdm. hope to implement this feature as quick as possible. because when downloading many things i need to quickly glance the status for each download. better if it will have message when hover towards the floating window for a quick glance just like the chinese xunlei downloader. :D tq

WARNING: I reccommend not to update to FDM 5.1.12, better stay with 5.1.11.

Updated from 5.1.11 to 5.1.12 with "Check for updates". FDM 5.1.12 is that slow that I click an action and have to wait around 5 to 10 seconds or even more seconds until FDM reacts once. Very slow. There could be some bug. Therefore I reccomend to stay with 5.1.11 until fixed.

Hello!

Could you kindly indicate what OS, including its version, you're running? It would be great if you could send us the dump file of the process so we could study the issue in details. Besides, please clarify what you implied by 'I click an action'. What action was it? How many downloads did you have on the list when the issue occurred?

Thank you in advance.

Using the latest build on win 7 and it seems to work fine.

@Clive Sorensson, can you guys keep at least one previous build setup along with the latest build? It would allow users to revert back to the older builds if latest builds are too buggy.

Dear Clive Sorensson,

I agree with idea from user above. Would also highly appreciate it. Can you please upload older builds, e.g. Version 5.1.11? This webspace does not cost anything and it is done in seconds => http://en.file-upload.net/

Thank you very much for great support.

PS: where can I donate for FDM?

Dear Users,

We highly appreciate your constructive feedback and participation in the discussion. We understand that you may feel somewhat disappointed about the inconvenience you had to experience with the beta release that is very important for the development of the stable version. Please try to update to the latest FDM 5.1.12 beta, and if the issue occurs again, send us the dump files for the process so we can study the problem in details.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Clive Sorensson,

did you delete some posts? I thought I saw some were users were angry but that are gone now. It does not help to censor this forum, does it?

Renz1er suggested to keep older builds. In case of a faulty update, one can re-install the older version (and give feedback to the bug). Especially, when updated with "Check for updates", there is no older setup file on disk. And build is not indicated in file names.
My biggest concern with FDM 5 beta is that there is no understanding on FDM development team side that users cannot install the cat in the sack if there is no way to go back to older version if necessary. There has to be older versions available to help oneself in case of errors in newest FDM update. If older versions are not downloadable and new version is buggy, FDM development team lets users stand alone in the dark.

Then we cannot participate in the development and give feedback. Hope to see a solution soon.

Thank you very much.

Dear User,

The posts we have to delete, unfortunately, didn't contain any information that could help us in solving the problem. The author of the posts wrote "But as no help from FDM, there is no help from me about that bug", so we decided that such messages could only distract both our users and developers from the main problem.

the cat in the sack

As for this report, the issue is being considered. Thank you.

OK, thank you, but what does your consideration mean? Does it mean that older versions will be kept online?

Will you also indicate the version in your install file on page 1 of this thread? Means instead of "setup_x64.exe" using "setup_x64_ver5.1.12.3865.exe"?

Thank you.
